the education area, the Positivo Group
encompasses students from Pre-School do Secondary School,
who are enrolled at its own units in Curitiba – three
schools, a foreign language-learning center and a university
entry exam preparatory course, both with two facilities
each. For university education, the Positivo Group owns
UnicenP – Positivo University Center – a state-of-the-art
campus that provides quality learning for over 26 graduate
courses, 40 post-graduate courses, and scores of extension
courses and community-oriented programs – one of the
most modern in Brazil.
In
the printing & publishing area, the
Positivo Group operates with two companies: Editora Positivo
(publishing) and Gráfica Posigraf (printing)., Editora
Positivo was founded in 2004, to cater to the education
segment both in Brazil and abroad, where it has two business
divisions: Sistemas de Ensinos (Learning Systems) and Obras
Editoriais (Book Publishing). The Sistemas de
Ensino division provides for private and public
schools that adopt Positivo’s teaching materials.
The Obras Editoriais system is
responsible for the portfolio of teaching, para-teaching
and general subject books, teacher education, children’s
books and reference books (the collection of Aurélio
dictionary products), as well as journals focused on education,
such as the Revista Aprende Brasil. Gráfica
Posigraf has elevated this Paraná-based
enterprise to a groundbreaker for international quality
and efficiency. It was founded in 1972 to print books that
were used by the Positivo Schools and nowadays the company
one of the largests commercial printing plant in Latin America.
Since 1997, it has been leader in the domestic market
ranking of the “promotional and commercial
segment”, nominated by Abigraf (Brazilian Printing
Industry Association).
In
the computer hardware & software area,
the Positivo Group has consolidated its position through
Positivo Informática, which was founded in 1989,
by manufacturing computers and developing hardware and software
technological solutions and providing educational technology
both domestically and abroad. Positivo Informática
is currently the largest manufacturer of computers in Brazil.
The company has two business divisions: Hardware and Educational
Technology. The portfolio of the Hardware offers a comprehensive
line of microcomputers (desktops and notebooks) which are
market leaders in Brazil. Through its Educational Technology
division the company provides unique solutions, such s educational
tables (nowadays exported to the five continents), the development
of educational software and management of Internet Portals
that are specialized in education and education services
for teachers/users and technical support. Also within this
segment, Positivo Informática is responsible for
developing technological solutions for the line of Aurélio
products that belongs to the Positivo Group since December
2003. It also participates in the home product niche by
providing software, games and solutions for Brazilian households.
The company detains exclusive distribution rights for the
whole line of the Disney series of educational software
in Brazil.
